For those of you who aren’t aware, I have been sick for the past week or so.
I was very discouraged cause I felt pretty useless just sitting on the couch watching Bones on Netflix. I was convinced I was going to be gaining all my weight back and upset because to me 1 week= 2lbs that I could have lost.
Well, I actually lost the 2lbs anyway. From what I figure, since I was eating just when I was hungry and not as much as when I was exercising, my body’s heightened metabolism (that I gained from working out) took care of the rest. I even noticed my belly getting smaller, so that was S W E E T.
My Nike Glides came yesterday, just in time because I was feeling way better than I have in a while. I was so freaking excited! I had been waiting to get them.
btw, as you can see they are super reflective! I’m going to save that for a post I am going to be making especially as a Glide review though.
In case you all were wondering, twice a year, I get VERY sick because I have horrible allergies. My guess is, summer officially hit …me in the face. I went from feeling like I had a fever, to feeling like I had a the flu. It lasted about a week. I didn’t have much of an appetite (check out my food diary link on my page)
It was insane, not too uncomfortable the last 2 days. I still have the allergies and probably will until winter hits, but not as bad as this week that just passed.
But I cannot emphasize how FREAKING PUMPED I am to get back in the game and kick it into gear!
To tell you all the truth, for the past few days I felt pretty useless to the fitblr community. I wanted to contribute more and post about jogging/setbacks ect, but I was happy to see that few posts I was able to contribute helped you guys out.
It was a huge pick me up to get messages, while I was all full of boogers , about how I was encouraging other girls just like me to get into shape. So, thank you all for reading/checking out my blog and for the messages.
Here’s to good health and losing those bellies! :)
You have almost exactly the same belly as me! I think I have more in the way of love handles, but that makes me kinda happy to see that I have a belly twin out there. XD I tend to think it comes from being less than tall. (I'm 5'2")
Haha then we are belly quadruplets! :P I got a couple messages from other people saying that, too. Go to my “what keeps me going” link to follow our “sisters” and lets support eachother! haha
omg I am so cheesy. But seriously, short people unite! It helps TONS to see progress from similar body types. Helps keep things realistic (;
i just want to fast forward to when i am cute and fit, so that i can take pictures in a sports bra and post them on tumblr as fitspo for other people
You don’t have to be cute and fit to be fitspo. Start posting NOW! Trust me. Sometimes, the best fitspo, is someone who is at the starting point with you. Later, when you are fit, the pics you take now will be MEGAFITSPO.
Hi, I just saw your "muffin top" progression on my dash and I was wondering do you think you're going to lose that little "pooch" below your belly button? I went from around 213 to 150 (and counting) and mine seems to have turned to wrinkly flab/skin and I'm almost certain it's going to have to be surgically removed :| have you noticed it shrinking at all or getting looser? x
Ok, about the “pooch”. I have been thinking about that myself. I’m not sure if it’s a genetic thing or something we just cannot avoid, but I am hoping -oh, God, am I hoping! - that it can be taken care of by just losing weight at a normal speed.
I did research and I found that the healthiest amount of weight for someone to lose is 2lbs a week (about 8 pounds a month or 96 lbs a year).
I’ve noticed that, naturally, my body has been doing just that on it’s own. My skin is still pretty tight and it is definitely toning where I have lost weight. It has definitely shrunk, but it’s still kind of flabby cause it’s pure fat lol. Hasn’t gotten more loose, but tbh I had a Santa belly, so it couldn’t get looser than that. haha I was worried it would get lower, like maybe as I lost weight it would sag, but if you look at my “muffin top pics” under my progress link, you can see that on the right side of my body, where I used to have over hang, it’s almost gone! I’m really excited about that.
I’m thinking in 2 months I should def have some straight answers for you but for now I want to say, in a nutshell:
If you aren’t losing weight drastically and you are toning as you lose weight, I believe it’s possible to lose the flabby skin below your belly button.
Thanks for asking this question, sorry about the long response, but I was going to do a post on this so I figured may as well do it now.
PS. Congrats on the weight loss! Keep on going! :)
Wow!!!! your progression pictures are absolutely amazing!! how do you do it!? you are truly an inspiration, i recently started a fit blog (not this one, oh-howiwish-thatwasme) and you are now like my number one inspiration!! keep up the great work! xx
Ahhh! That is so sweet, really. I was all
I will continue to provide you and the rest of fitblr. all the info/ inspirational posts I can! :)
Oh don't worry, sometimes I feel discouraged also but I just go on here and see all the positive things that people put up and it makes me feel better. Especially when I see you so determined, positive, and those inspiring pictures it makes it even better. But I just thought I'd let you know that your doing amazing and you really keep me going also ! (((:
I am legit so happy you uploaded that progress picture. Your body is the first body shape I've seen that is so close to mine, I thought I was the only one! Please keep posting, I'd love to have some idea of what my body will look like in months to come! Good luck with your journey, keep strong. xxxxxx
Wooo! My belly has made a difference, lol. I’m glad that it’s helping somebody. I know how hard it is to find the same body type, especially when starting off, but don’t worry, I will keep posting. I plan to go all the way with it and start to build muscle later.
WOW! amazing progress :) *standing ovation* what do you do? any tips you'd like to share? :D Trying to go down 20 lbs by September and I don't seem to be making much progress.. :/
Thank you so much! :) As for tips, number one thing: Drink tons of water!
I noticed when I played basketball, I started dropping the lbs like crazy. I mostly do cardio, I started with just walking 2 or 3 miles a day. I’ve been jogging 2 miles a day recently. In between, I do 30 mins of yoga here and there, tennis, and believe it or not Kinect games on my xbox like Fruit Ninja and UFC Trainer. So basically, just keep moving at least 30 mins a day!
When I started stepping it up, I dove into Jillian’s 30 Day Shred and I noticed that it toned me, more than anything, which is good, cause as you lose weight you want your skin to keep up with the weight loss.
You can def. meet your weight loss goal by September. The healthiest amount of lbs to lose a week are two pounds so your time frame is a little longer than what you may need.
Also, you have to eat healthy foods to keep you energized. Because you are working out, you’re going to be feeling hungrier. Try to eat stuff that’s made of mostly of only one ingredient (veggies, fruit, baked/grilled chicken) or if you can make your own food at home, that way you know exactly what’s going into your body.
Hi I love your septum piercing so much... I wanna get one oneday but wondered how much it hurt and whether you can tell you have it pierced when you don't have the ring in (as i would have to take it out for work)?. Well done on your weight loss by the way :-)
On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most painful, I’d say it was an 8. But it only lasts for a couple of seconds and then it’s sore, which is like a 4. When I don’t have it in I use a lip piercing clear retainer, so you can’t see it unless you can see up my nose, in which case it would just look like a booger haha. It’s probably the most noticeable piercing ever, because when I got it EVERYBODY made a huge deal about it, but to me,eh, it was just a piercing. The most affordable septum jewelry you could get would probably be at Walmart. Make sure to buy some spray made especially to keep it clean and disinfected and enjoy!
And thanks about the weight-loss! I’m super excited to get right back into exercising, I’ve been sick the past few days. :)
hi! just had to follow you for inspiration because i feel like i'm at the same starting point as you were and you've done so well in such a short period! i'm also doing 30DS and my body is like whaaaat the hell are you doing to me. i hope i have results as awesome as you have :) have a good day -- enjoy the extra jumping jack ;)
Awesome! I’m glad that my blog is helping you and I know how hard it is to find people around the same body type/starting point, so I’m glad you stumbled upon mine. The 30DS is sweet mana from heaven, I hope you stick to it, you will see results! Take pictures, even if you don’t want to share them, they make a HUGE difference for yourself in the long run. :)
Today is the first day I hit the gym in like 3 months!I am at 159 which puts me at 14lbs lost :) I still have 14 lbs to go and now is the time to hustle.I have been slacking off on my cardio but no more!
